Dr. Montse Marquès, along with Tecniospring and ACCIÓ, made a promotional video of INSULIN project. INSULIN is aimed at assessing the role of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on the development of gestational diabetes mellitus. We will launch safe+PREGNANCY app to provide recommendations to reduce the exposure to hazardous chemicals during pregnancy.

In the framework of the 2022 Science Week, Dr. Joaquim Rovira participated in a workshop to highlight the problem of microplastics in the environment. The event, entitled Welcome to plasticocene, the age of plastic, on the plastisphere, took place on Sunday, November 20, at Museum of Tortosa. The workshop was organized as an educational activity addressed to children aged >8 years, and it was based on experiments to differentiate and identify microplastics, ultimately calculating the amount that is eaten every week.
We participated in the Transnational Project Meeting organised on 8th and 9th of November 2022 in Lousada, Portugal, with the participation of the representatives of all partner organisations involved in the project. The meeting was an opportunity to review the project progress and to organise the project activities. The Guide for VET providers to Foster Circular Economy Entrepreneurship with SMEs will be released very soon, stay tuned!!

Food is one of the most important exposure pathways to polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs), with cow milk and dairy products as relevant contributors. Prof. Domingo recently reviewed the scientific information on the concentrations of PCDD/Fs in milk and dairy products and published his results in the International Journal of Dairy Technology.
