This article highlights the high concentration of dioxins in air in Sant Adrià del Besós, which is up to 5 times higher than levels reported in similar industrial areas. Consequently, there is a cancer risk 2.3 times above the acceptable level, meaning one case of cancer per million.

Last Thursday 28th June, Prof. Josep Lluís Domingo did the inaugural session of the 22nd Spanish and 6th Iberoamerican conference organized by the Spanish Society of Toxicology. He was talking about the correlation between processed and red meet consumption and cancer: "The higher the fat content of the meat is, the higher the contaminant content is". Dr. Marta Schumacher presented the results of the second study of human exposure to environmental pollutants after the tire landfill fire that occurred in Seseña.
