The doctoral programme in Nanosciences, Materials and Chemical Engineering organises a day in which doctoral students have the opportunity to discuss their work and have it evaluated by a prestigious panel of experts during a poster exhibition session. The TecnATox member María Ángeles Martínez won the second award of the 1st year PhD students.

She participated as a chair of the session: "Fate, risk assessment and management of natural toxins: state-of-the-art, challenges and future prospectives", together with Dr. Karina Knudsmark Sjoholm and Prof. Hans Hans Christian B. Hansen as co-chairs.

Montse Marquès obtained the PhD degree with the highest qualification Excellent Cum Laude. The thesis entitled: "Climate change impact on the photodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soils" was supervised by Prof. Josep Lluís Domingo, Dr. Montse Mari and Dr. Martí Nadal.
Joaquim Rovira, a postdoctoral reseacher from TecnATox, has been awarded with a grant from "Pla Estratègic de Recerca i Innovació en salut (PERIS 2016-2020)" (Strategic Plan for Research and Innovation in Health (PERIS 2016-2020)). This call is promoted by the Government of Catalonia, through the Health Department, in order to generate knowledge with impact on the health of population during the next four years.
