TecnATox was present at the III International Symposium on Organic Matter Management and Compost Use in Horticulture, which took place in April 20-24, in Murcia (Spain). The Symposium was organized by the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and the Group of Soil Enzimology and Biorremediation and Organic Wastes of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC-CEBAS), being Dr. Miguel A. Sánchez-Monedero and Dr. Mariluz Cayuela the conveners.
Dr. Martí Nadal was invited to give a keynote lecture, entitled “Health risks associated to solid waste composting: From production to use in agriculture”. The speech was focused on 2 case-studies of health risks due to occupational exposure to compost, at different stages of its life cycle. Moreover, the poster “Airborne levels of VOCs and bioaerosols near a composting plant in Catalonia, Spain. Human health risk assessment” was also presented.

Born in Autumn/Winter 2013, Pigalle has quickly grown into a modern classic, a treasured staple of any woman wardrobe, and remains a recurring style within louboutin dames sneakers collections. In the designer own words, It is not a seasonal shoe, but one that lasts a lifetime. You can wear it in winter or summer; it is suede or leather, shiny or matte. But to my mind, it reaches its maximum expression in black patent leather, because of the color of the sole and the precision of the design.

TecnATox will be in the partnership of a new Trans-Domain COST Action, entitled “Network on technology-critical elements - from environmental processes to human health threats” (TD COST Action TD1407). The Action will create a network of scientists working and interested on technology-critical elements (TCEs), from an environmental perspective to potential human health threats, with the aim of defining the current state of knowledge and gaps, proposing priority research lines/activities, and acting as a platform for new collaborations and joint research projects. COST is the longest-running European framework supporting trans-national cooperation among researchers, engineers and scholars across Europe. Participants from up to 16 European countries will take part in this specific COST Action, which will be coordinated by Dr. Antonio Cobelo (CSIC-Vigo). Dr. Martí Nadal will act as a member of the Management Committee.
Dr. Martí Nadal was recently invited to attend the II International Workshop on Toxicology, which was held at the Ribeirão Preto campus of University of São Paulo, Brazil. The event was organized by Prof. Fernando Barbosa Jr., researcher of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto at University of São Paulo. Dr. Nadal took advantage of the workshop to present some advances of TecnATox on one of the most recent research areas of the group, focused on climate change, giving a plenary lecture entitled “Influence of the climate change on the environmental levels of POPs: An additional risk?”.
Dr. Nadal’s visit was aimed at boosting the collaboration of TecnATox with Prof. Barbosa’s group, one of the most prestigious worldwide in the area of food toxicology. In addition, Dr. Nadal visited the facilities of the School of Nursery of Ribeirão Preto, where he met with Prof. Susana Segura-Muñoz and several members of her research group. TecnATox and Dr. Segura-Muñoz’s group has carried out an intense collaboration for more than 10 years, performing a number of joint projects in the areas of environmental toxicology and health risk assessment.
A delegation of TecnATox attended the International Symposium CLIMATE-ES 2015, which was held in Tortosa (Catalonia, Spain) in March 11-13, 2015.
